Role Overview: As the Trusts Manager, you will play a pivotal role in securing vital funding from trusts and foundations, contributing to the sustainability and growth of the charity’s programmes and initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fundraising and Grant Management: Identify, research, and target new trusts and foundations. Prepare and submit compelling funding applications, ensuring alignment with the charity’s goals and objectives.
  • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with trust and foundation representatives. Provide regular updates and reports to donors, ensuring transparency and fostering long-term partnerships.
  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development and implementation of the charity’s fundraising strategy, with a focus on trust and foundation income streams.
  • Proposal Writing: Draft high-quality, persuasive proposals and reports tailored to the specific requirements of each trust or foundation.
  • Budget Management: Prepare detailed budgets for funding applications and manage grant expenditure in line with donor requirements and organisational policies.
  • Impact Reporting: Monitor and evaluate the outcomes of funded projects, compiling comprehensive reports that demonstrate the impact and effectiveness of the charity’s work.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with programme teams to gather information and evidence for funding applications and impact reports. Collaborate with other fundraising colleagues to maximise opportunities and share best practices.

 

Person Specification:

  • Experience: Proven track record in securing significant funding from trusts and foundations. Minimum of 3-5 years in a similar role within the charity sector.
  • Skills: Exceptional writing and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and persuasively. Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge: Thorough understanding of the UK trust and foundation landscape. Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements related to charity fundraising.
  • Attributes: Highly organised, proactive, and results-oriented. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively. Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative team player.
  • Education: Degree-level education or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
